Open Play

Open Play

Rotation-based match play, organized by skill level.

Overview

Open play allows individuals to sign up and participate in rotation-based match play. Sessions run 2 hours and are divided by skill level, currently ranging from 2.0+ through 5.0+. Matches are played to 11, win by 2. Winning teams stay on court and split; losing teams rotate off and re-enter the paddle rack queue. Any player who wins two consecutive matches must also rotate off, keeping things moving for everyone in the queue. Court capacity is capped at 6 players per court (4 playing, 2 waiting).

Why We Offer It

The easiest way to get on a court without booking a private reservation or committing to a league.

Who It's For

Players at 3.5 and above must have a verified DUPR rating or a club rating assigned by an OPA instructor within Court Reserve — unverified players are not permitted in rated sessions. Guests are only permitted in unverified (below 3.5) open play sessions, since guest skill levels can't be independently confirmed.

What To Expect

Pricing: $12/session for non-members, $8 for Friend members, no charge for Fanatic/Founder/Flex. Registration windows are staggered by tier — Founders, Flex, and Endless Summer members (before 4pm weekdays or anytime weekends) get 3 weeks advance; Fanatics get 2 weeks; Friends and non-members get 1 week. You can cancel up to 1 hour in advance. The Lodge also runs themed sessions for specific groups (restaurant partner employees, first responders, seniors 60+, young professionals).
